Well-written IEP goals have the most impact when they honor the individual strengths of the student and focus on essential mathematical concepts. In this workshop, participants will learn how to design effective math IEP goals that align to key concepts, grade-level standards, and students’ unique learning characteristics.
Participants will:
- Understand the core components of a high-quality math IEP goal that aligns with key mathematical concepts of each grade level
- Identify the steps necessary to develop an IEP goal that is meaningful and robust
- Develop a practice math IEP goal by applying ALN’s SMART2 model and template to a case study
- Explore resources to develop effective math IEP goals and assess students’ learning with a strengths-based approach
