Calling all language teachers! If you’re struggling with Writing instruction for your Intermediate (Transitioning) MLLs/ELLs, then this workshop is for you. This session introduces a structured approach to three common paragraph types?chronological, informative, and argumentative?frequently assigned in grades 4?12. Each paragraph type is paired with a specific sentence structure that guides students in expressing ideas clearly and purposefully. The approach is especially helpful for multilingual learners, and teachers will appreciate how systematic and easy to implement these structures are.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the sentence structures associated with each paragraph type
- Match each paragraph type with its corresponding structure
- Plan when and how to use these paragraph types in future lessons
Facilitator: Tan Huynh
