The Engaging Classroom: Making Learning LIT (Part 2)

November 9 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

- $390

How do we take our students from passive or compliant to truly engaged? Engagement isn’t about keeping students entertained, but rather about designing learning experiences where students are active, connected, and invested. In this interactive three-part series, school teams* will explore practical strategies for making learning LIT: Lively, Interactive, and Transformative. You will explore practical strategies for making that shift: energizers, interactive learning structures, purposeful movement, and effective teacher language that increase participation, deepen learning, and proactively reduce off-task behavior. Small shifts in lesson design can move students from passive recipients to active participants and you’ll leave with a ready-to-use collection of strategies to bring to your school immediately to make learning more engaging, meaningful, and fun.

By the end of this series, you will be able to:

  • Identify key elements of a Lively, Interactive, and Transformative (LIT) classroom and explain how they support student engagement, learning, and positive behavior
  • Apply energizers, purposeful movement, and interactive learning structures that increase student participation and deepen learning
  • Integrate effective teacher language with engaging instructional strategies to create active, student-centered learning experiences

Facilitator: Earl Hunter II

*Note: It is recommended that your school has a team that includes a classroom teacher, a coach, and a school leadership team representative. Each team member will use ONE School Team Learning Cohort (STLC) seat to attend this three-part series.
