Supporting students with ADHD effectively requires a strong partnership between educators and families. Communication, consistency, and mutual understanding are essential but often challenging. This session with veteran educator Evelyn Polk Green (who brings personal experience as both an adult with ADHD and a mother to two adult sons with ADHD) aims to provide practical strategies to improve school-family collaboration, ensuring that students with ADHD receive comprehensive and consistent support.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies between school staff and families, ensuring clear and consistent information sharing about the student’s needs and progress.
- Create and utilize collaborative support plans that align school-based interventions with home-based strategies, promoting a cohesive approach to managing ADHD.
- Evaluate and refine current support systems to enhance the consistency and effectiveness of ADHD interventions across school and home environments.
