Part 1 of this two-part series* helps school leaders provide ongoing, meaningful support to teachers while maintaining their own well-being. Leaders will explore high-impact, informal feedback loops that ensures final evaluations contain no surprises, ways to shift feedback from evaluative to developmental (providing authentic day-to-day support), and strategies to navigate perceived power dynamics in difficult conversations. Participants will also examine strategies for sustaining leadership capacity and implementing shared leadership models to distribute responsibilities and build staff ownership.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Shift feedback from evaluative to developmental, providing day-to-day instructional support
- Learn to have tough conversations that don’t feel punitive by recognizing and mitigating power dynamics
- Discover ways to sustain and share leadership
Facilitator: Jen Schwanke
