This series is for anyone who has wondered how to increase student ownership, add value to their assessment practices, and turn standards into meaningful components of their classroom. In Part 1 of this three-part series, we will look at how best to unpack a standard and turn it into a learning progression, a tool that clarifies steps of complexity a student might go through while pursuing mastery of the standard. Participants will walk away with learning progressions that can be used in their classrooms right away, tools to support unpacking standards, and access to a custom-built AI-powered tool that can help build learning progressions.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand how to unpack standards efficiently
- Identify levels of complexity embedded within standards
- Build learning progressions to support student ownership of learning
Facilitator: Tyler Rablin
*Note: Collaborative members will use ONE STLC: School Team Learning Cohort (STLC) seat to attend this three-part series (2/24, 3/3, and 3/10). We encourage teachers to attend with coaches and/or Directors of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure alignment between schoolwide expectations and classroom instruction.
