As NYSED rolls out its new Portrait of a Graduate high school exit requirements, make sure your high school is up to date on the timeline and key action items to begin in Fall 2026. In Part 1 of this two-part SEAT-FREE series for high school leadership team members, we’ll review what we know so far about NYSED’s vision for the Portrait of a Graduate, share out how some charter high schools are already incorporating elements into their programming and school design, and look at ways to gather stakeholder feedback. Schools will leave with greater clarity on some important and manageable action steps for Fall 2026 that are aligned to the state’s rollout of the Portrait of a Graduate.
