In this dynamic workshop, participants will learn how to break down linguistic barriers and plan intentional instructional supports for MLLs/ELLs of all proficiency levels. We will explore high leverage, research-based methods when differentiating instruction by content, process, and product to address language development throughout a lesson, regardless of content area. Work time will be given for participants to apply their learnings and edit a lesson with strategies discussed in the workshop.
Note: The last hour of this session will be dedicated to a “train the trainer” type format. The facilitator will provide participants the necessary materials, coaching, and work time to plan how to disseminate the session information to staff. If you are not planning to turnkey this session, you can plan to leave at 2pm.
