Interpreting Your MLLs’/ELLs’ NYSITELL & NYSESLAT Scores for SY2627

September 25 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

- $350

In this training, participants will learn how to read the RLAT, the ATS report that breaks down MLLs’/ELLs’ NYSESLAT scores from the past three years, as well as their NYSITELL score. Participants will explore how to interpret the raw vs. converted scores and understand the nuances of how MLLs/ELLs are performing overall, as well as in the four domains: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and explore different resources that can help them track MLL/ELL data and progress throughout the year, including the Charter Center’s updated NYSESLAT Analysis Tool. We’ll also provide some insights into the overlap of NYSITELL/NYSESLAT and WIDA as we enter this transition year.

By attending this session, attendees will leave with…

  • An understanding of how to interpret students’ NYSITELL and NYSESLAT scores by subtest (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), especially in the new context of a Spring ’27 transition to WIDA
  • An action plan to help implement resources explored during the workshop

Presenter: Rene Minnocci and Richard Bellis
