Creating Inclusive Learning Environments for Immigrant Students

With the influx of asylum seekers over the past couple of years, the goal to create inclusive spaces for immigrant students and families has increase saliency. In this dynamic and student-centered training, we’ll explore asset-based perspectives when engaging immigrant and undocumented studnets. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of best practices, strategies, and tools to help create inclusive and safe cultures for their immigrant populations.

By attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Increase their understanding of the rights, assets and resources for the immigrant and undocumented experience of students in K-12 schools
  • Gather and adopt best practices to create a safe and welcoming school and classroom for all students regardless of immigration status
