Many multilingual learners and students with disabilities are engaged when content connects to something real — but building that kind of classroom takes more than good intentions. This full-day, in-person session explores how language, content, and the arts can work together to create more inclusive, participatory learning environments. You will experience arts-based learning strategies firsthand while examining ways to strengthen student voice, participation, and belonging. Through collaborative activities, reflection, and practical planning, you will leave with ready-to-use strategies that can be adapted across grade levels and content areas. No prior arts experience is required.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify how arts-integrated learning supports language development, engagement, and access for multilingual learners and students with disabilities
- Apply strategies that promote student voice, belonging, and meaningful participation in the classroom
- Design an action plan for integrating language, content, and creative learning experiences into your existing instructional practice
