9:00-12:00 – Culturally Responsive Clinical Interventions and Deescalation Strategies for Trauma Exposed Youth
In the morning session, participants will learn how trauma, culture, identity, and systemic inequities shape youth behavior and emotional regulation in school-based settings. This session will introduce culturally responsive, trauma-informed de-escalation strategies that promote safety, connection, and regulation during moments of crisis. Attendees will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to reduce escalation while honoring youths’ lived experiences and strengths. This workshop is ideal for professionals seeking effective, equity-centered approaches to working with highly impacted youth.

1:15-3:15 – Healing Practices & Circles: Countertransference and Self-Care for School Based Mental Health Professionals
This afternoon session explores how countertransference, secondary trauma, and chronic stress show up in school-based mental health work. Participants will engage in reflective healing practices and circle-based approaches to increase self-awareness, emotional processing, and professional sustainability. The workshop emphasizes practical strategies for caring for oneself while maintaining ethical, effective practice with students and families. Attendees should come to restore, reflect, and strengthen their capacity to show up grounded and present in challenging school environments.
