Counselor & Social Worker Spring 2025 Summit

April 3 @ 9:00 am - 3:15 pm

- $390

In this full day, in-person session, counselors and social workers will have the opportunity to network with peers, learn and share best practices, and feel empowered to better support their school communities for an impactful Spring semester.

The morning session will be facilitated by Dr. Nelson Tung and will focus on strategies for self-care and burnout prevention. Participants will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of burnout and understand its impact on their well-being and professional effectiveness. They will explore the importance of self-care and discover practical strategies to maintain balance, resilience, and emotional health. Additionally, social workers and counselors will learn how to establish preventative routines, set healthy boundaries, and create a personalized self-care plan to sustain their passion for their work. They’ll also gain insight into when to seek support and how prioritizing their well-being benefits both themselves and their clients.

In the afternoon, join Dr. Jessica Chock-Goldman for a session on assessing suicidal ideation in youth, identifying when hospitalization is necessary, and approaching these situations with a culturally affirming lens. The session will also cover tools for managing long-term suicidal ideation without hospitalization and strategies for supporting school reintegration for high-risk youth, all within a collaborative framework. Dr. Chock-Goldman will help normalize the assessment process, encouraging clinicians to integrate conversations about suicidal ideation into their everyday practice with youth.
