In this full-day, in-person Summit, counselors and social workers will strengthen their practice while building connections with peers across the city. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative learning, participants will explore practical strategies to support youth in school settings. LMSWs and LCSWs will be eligible to receive 5 CEUs. The day will be split into morning and afternoon sessions:
When Meditation Just Isn’t Cutting It: Holistic Mind-Body Approaches to Nervous System Regulation
In this interactive morning workshop, you’ll discover practical neuro-somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system, especially when meditation and breathwork fall short. Then we will learn how to support students during acute anxiety and build long-term regulation using these same strategies.
Behavior Change Unlocked: The Neuropsychology of Sustainable Habit Formation
This afternoon workshop combines therapy and coaching modalities with fun and unique applied neuroscience exercises to help school staff and students understand why they are getting stuck and how to actually effectively start to make sustainable habit change in order to become the people they dream of being.
By the end of this Summit, participants will be able to:
- Learn easy-to-teach tools and techniques to help student calm anxiety and regulate their nervous system, especially when they may struggle with meditation.
- Gain an understanding of why most habit change attempts fail to be sustainable and how to begin developing realistic goals that actually stick long term.
- Explore exercises based in the mind-body-brain connection to help students improve energy, focus, and attention.
