Beyond the Basics: Building with AI for Language Learning with Your Students

March 12 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

- $350

Many secondary educators have embraced AI in their own lesson planning, but have not yet introduced AI tools to their students. Just because students were not introduced to AI in the classroom does not mean they’re not using it! In this session, we’ll explore how to incorporate AI into your instruction with students and how to help students use AI responsibly as a learning tool rather than a shortcut. The session emphasizes student agency, placing responsibility and decision-making in MLLs’/ELLs’ hands so they can actively shape their own language learning journey.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Develop strategies for communicating effective use of AI to students
  • Apply language acquisition pedagogy to generative AI technology
  • Recognize and implement differentiation strategies for custom generative AI outputs
